Honest ice cream from “Eis-Greissler”
In Krumbach, Andrea and Georg Blochberger make ice cream from natural ingredients
“To make really good ice cream, you can safely do this without colourings and additives,” says Georg Blochberger. Provided you think up delicious recipes and use only the best ingredients – for example, organic milk from your own cows.
Grey poppy seed, caramel pretzel and vegan strawberry ice cream: In Krumbach in the region’s “Bucklige Welt”, the Blochberger family makes completely natural ice cream from home-milked organic milk and other selected ingredients. Without artificial flavours, colours and preservatives and – except for two varieties – also without egg. But with tonnes of flavour. That’s because the Blochbergers use locally grown fruit and vegetables whenever possible – preferably also freshly picked from their own garden.
Exquisite varieties
However, Eis-Greissler ice cream, brought to you from the Viennese Alps, became famous not only because of its outstanding quality, but also because of its unusual and seasonal varieties such as goat cheese, elderflower or pumpkin seed oil. The ice cream is available in Eis-Greissler shops in Vienna, Wiener Neustadt, Graz, Klagenfurt, Lienz, Parndorf, Salzburg and Linz.
Ice cream time travel
In the ice cream manufactory, you can follow the ice cream production step by step. The voyage of discovery starts in an old train compartment and leads through the ice age via an adventure cinema. Here, the history of ice cream can be experienced with all the senses. Finally, there will be a tasting session in the test kitchen. Afterwards, the coffee house invites you to while away the hours with coffee, cake and ice cream sundaes.
Relaxation & Action
You can relax on the spacious terrace, the wooden loungers by the lily pond or with an ice cream sundae in the winter garden. Those who choose to climb the hill to the viewing platform are rewarded with a tremendous view of the hills of Austria’s “Bucklige Welt” region.
Little ice cream fans will be sure to have fun in the adventure park and the water adventure world. Here, children can cross a 40 cm deep pond on rafts and enjoy lots of water-based fun. And another exciting tip: racing on the pedal go-kart track, bouncy hill and mini farm. One particularly popular aspect is the spectacular giant slide that allows guests to whizz down on special sacks and a ball track with a cherry maze, waffle slalom and chocolate vanilla wave. The latest attraction is the milk shaker, a 10-metre high free-fall tower and the “Schubkannenrennen”, a mini-game in which milk is transported to the “shake barn” in a race.
