Description

Walkable and wonderful things lie side by side in Bad Schönau; many things want to be discovered and experienced here. Besides the spa offerings, there are numerous hiking trails to explore in Bad Schönau. Hiking maps of Bad Schönau are available at the town hall or at the spa establishments. On the small Leitenviertel path, for example, you can take a break from everyday life, forget stress and worries, and simply enjoy nature and the peaceful landscape. On this circular route east of the town center, you will be on the trail for less than an hour and can take your time enjoying the landscape of the Bucklige Welt. Due to the flat and mostly paved paths, the round trip is suitable for hikers of all ages.

Bad Schönau lies on the route of the Vienna Alps arc; here starts the stage to Gschaidt via Hutwisch, and in the other direction, a stage leads to Kirchschlag in the Bucklige Welt.

Route description The path starts from the village square and goes along Kurhausstraße until the junction turning right onto Hauptstraße. This street is followed up to Hotel Geier, where you then turn left into Maierhöfnerstraße. After about 50 meters, there is another turn to the left into Königsbergstraße. The path then ascends to the Leitenviertler Höhenweg (E 10), where you turn right. Shortly after, Wagenhofer is reached, where you turn right again onto Maierhöfnerstraße. Following this street leads back into the village. At Hauptstraße, turn right to return to the village square.

Getting there From Vienna: Take south motorway A2, exit Krumbach. At exit 76-Krumbach, drive towards Krumbach/Hungary and continue via Krumbach junction onto B55. In Bad Schönau, turn right onto Hauptstraße. Turn right onto Kurhausstraße.From Graz: Take south motorway A2, exit Aspang-Zöbern. Turn right onto L137. Follow the road. Turn right onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. In Bad Schönau, turn right onto Hauptstraße. Turn right onto Kurhausstraße.
