Description

From the village center past the vicarage of the late Gothic fortified church Edlitz, the initially ascending hiking trail leads along a so-called hollow path behind the Schafferhof into the Gösswald forest. Here, the trail continues leisurely through the Gösswald forest along the forest road to the Wiedner Landesstraße. Then follow Wiednerstraße downhill through Hofstatt to Kirchschlager Bundesstraße, where you turn right again towards the town center. After a leisurely hike, you can relax and enjoy refreshments at the "Grüner Baum" inn in the village itself. It is also worth visiting the beautiful, late Gothic fortified church in Edlitz and the interesting and informative introductory documentation of the fortified church route. The "Bucklige Welt" fortified church route starts in Edlitz and leads past the beautiful fortified churches of Krumbach, Hochneukirchen, Bad Schönau, Kirchschlag, Lichtenegg, Hollenthon, Wiesmath, Hochwolkersdorf, Bromberg, Lanzenkirchen and Katzelsdorf.
