The most popular ascent to the Unterberg Schutzhaus leads via the Miragraben. NOTE: Please note that this winter hiking trail may not be completely cleared in snowy conditions and may be slippery. Use at your own risk! Make sure you have suitable equipment such as sturdy shoes, poles, waterproof outdoor clothing, headgear, etc. Drink enough water even in winter! Watch out for early dusk and take particular care when planning your tour!

Description

The Unterberg shelter is open all year round (except from November 2nd week - December 7th) and is located in the middle of the Unterberg natural snow ski area.

Route description We start our hike at the former inn in Gries in Rohr im Gebirge. We follow the path through the Miragraben until we reach the Unterberg Schutzhaus.
Getting there Drive on the A2 to Wöllersdorf and drive along the B21 through Pernitz and Gutenstein to Rohr im Gebirge.
Public transport For example, take the train to Wiener Neustadt station. From there continue by regional bus to Rohr im Gebirge. More info at: www.vor.at
