Hiking tour Starting from Hochschneeberg mountain station (1800 m)
From the Hochschneeberg mountain station, the hike goes via Baumgartner stop, Kaltwassersattel, Hengst Hut, and Hauslitzsattel down to Puchberg am Schneeberg.
The king of the Vienna Alps rises clearly visible as the highest mountain in Lower Austria, 2,076 m above the wide land. The Schneeberg cog railway takes you from the health resort town of Puchberg into this mountain paradise. You will find pristine nature, marked hiking trails, and a magnificent panoramic view! The hike is accompanied by wonderful views, for example, of Hoher Hengst, the Puchberg valley basin, the plains of the Steinfeld with the Leitha and Rosalia Mountains, and the Arbe Valley with the small village of Rohrbachgraben.
Restore your inner balance, calm down, and recharge your strength – here in this silence.
A culinary highlight is Baumgartner Station at 1,394 m above sea level. Here you will find delicious Schneeberg dumplings in various variations.
For children, the highest alpine playground of Lower Austria at 1,800 m directly next to the Hochschneeberg mountain station offers fun and action.
A paradise for the little guests, supervised by parents who cannot yet undertake very long hikes!
Please consider the details on elevation, distance, and walking time when planning your hike, so that the route remains an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
