The Berghaus Hochschneeberg is located right next to the Schneebergbahn’s terminal station at about 1,800 meters above sea level—making it situated directly next to Austria’s highest-altitude train station. Thanks to this unique location, it is easily accessible and also serves as a great starting point for hikes on the high plateau.
On a clear day, the view extends all the way to Lake Neusiedl. The historic building is also architecturally remarkable: it was designed by the renowned theater architects Helmer & Fellner.
Inside the building, the exhibition “Schneeberg around 1900” provides information about the history of the mountain lodge and the Schneeberg.
