Wanderung Krumbach: Zöberau - Zöberntalradweg

When choosing a route, make sure it matches your experience and fitness level. Check the weather forecast in advance. The weather in the mountains can change surprisingly quickly. Therefore, always set out with the appropriate gear (e.g., rain gear, snacks, drinks, etc.). Check to see if the restaurants and huts you plan to visit are open. Let someone know which route you’re taking and when you plan to return before you set out.

Always bring appropriate hiking maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes suitable for the hike, and bring sun and rain protection, as well as water and a snack. Bring your cell phone and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140

Starting point: Krumbach municipal parking lot; head toward Königseggstraße; follow the green markers toward “Zöbernbachradweg”; at Königseggstraße, turn right onto the dirt road and follow it up to the paved road; follow the road until you reach the second chapel; turn left toward “Zöbernbachradweg”; after about 100 meters, turn right onto the forest path (sunken path) toward “Zöbernbachradweg” and follow it until you reach the state highway; turn right and then left over the bridge to the Zöberntalradweg; On the Zöberntal Radweg, turn right to walk to Zöbern (about 45 minutes), or turn left toward Unterhaus, tothe “Museumsdorf” and “Krumbach – Gemeindeparkplatz.”

Parking is available at the municipal parking lot.

From Vienna: Take the A2 Südautobahn and exit at Krumbach. Continue to the Krumbach interchange. Continue on Kirchschlager Str./B55. In Krumbach, turn left onto Marktstraße. Turn right to stay on Marktstraße.

From Graz: Take the A2 Südautobahn and exit at Aspang-Zöbern. Turn right onto the L137. Continue on Kampichl and Hauptstraße. In Zöbern, Hauptstraße curves to the left and becomes Austraße. Follow the L137 to Unterhaus near Krumbach, then turn left onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. Continue on the B55. Turn right onto Marktstraße, then turn left to stay on Marktstraße.

Directions by train and bus: Take the Südbahn to Wiener Neustadt, then transfer to the regional train (toward Aspang-Markt) to the Edlitz-Grimmenstein station. From there, take regional bus 390 to the Krumbach Ortsmitte stop.
