The village of Edlitz, nestled in the valley between many forests and hills, is home to a cultural insider tip: the fortified church documentation next to one of the most beautiful fortified churches in the region tells of the history of the Bucklige Welt in the 15th and 16th centuries - definitely worth a stop on the cycle tour. You can stop off at the Grüner Baum inn and tavern opposite.
The route follows the road, so be mindful of traffic at all times and use signals, such as hand signals, when turning. When choosing a route, make sure it is appropriate for your experience and fitness level. Check the weather forecast and find out about places to stop for refreshments in advance.
Wear a helmet, appropriate clothing, and sturdy shoes. Be sure to bring rain gear and sunscreen. Bring plenty to drink and your cell phone.
The loop tour takes you a good distance uphill along the Panoramastraße to the Sonnberg. If you’d like, you can continue on from here to the Maria Schnee pilgrimage church in Kaltenberg. Otherwise, a beautiful stretch with fantastic views now beckons for a downhill ride, passing through Prägart, Winterhof, and the Ebenhofer Höhe. The ride continues to Wieden toward Edlitz until you reach the starting point again.

From Vienna and Graz: Take the A2 highway, exit at Grimmenstein, continue toward Grimmenstein, and once in town, turn onto the B55 toward Edlitz.
Take the train via Wiener Neustadt to the Edlitz-Grimmenstein station. From there, it’s 3.2 km to the Wehrkirche Documentation Center in Edlitz, along Federal Highway B55.
