The round tour through the Bucklige Welt leads over the 1000 hills. A beautiful tour on roads with little traffic, but with lots of panoramic views.
On this tour, you start in the heart of the Bucklige Welt, right in Wiesmath, where you will find the pilgrimage church of St. Anna. Alternatively, you can also travel by train and start from Scheiblingkirchen station. There is a steady climb from Huts to Kaltenberg - then the biggest effort is over.
When choosing a route, make sure it matches your experience and fitness level. Check the weather forecast in advance.
We recommend wearing a bike helmet on rides. Wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Remember to bring protection from the rain and sun. Be sure to bring plenty to drink.
The tour starts in Wiesmath. After leaving town, follow the signs to Hollenthon on the left. Ride through Hollenthon and take the road toward Lichtenegg. The route passes the Lichtenegg wind turbine; then turn right at the intersection. Now head toward Kaltenberg and then follow the road downhill to Grimmenstein. In Grimmenstein, cross the railroad crossing and turn right onto the B54, following it to Warth. There, turn right toward Scheiblingkirchen and continue straight ahead along the road through Thernberg, Bromberg, and Hochwolkersdorf. After Hochwolkersdorf, turn right to head back to Wiesmath.
Parking Spaces in the Town Center
Coming from Vienna, follow the A2 to the Wr. Neustadt Süd exit. Then follow the signs to Wiesmath.
Coming from Graz, take the A2 to the Grimmenstein exit. From there, drive through Lichtenegg and Hollenthon to Wiesmath.
From Vienna and Graz, the ÖBB runs to Wiener Neustadt. From there, the bus goes to Wiesmath. Alternatively, you can also start the tour at the Scheiblingkirchen-Warth train station.
