Tobogganing fun in the Semmering-Rax region

Tobogganists have lots to choose from in the Semmering and Rax region – where there are rapid descents aplenty, suitable for both children and adults. Alongside the longest toboggan run in Austria, in Semmering, countless other descents including the Naturrodelbahn (natural toboggan run), sponsored by WSV Prein, make for an unforgettable day of tobogganing fun.

Toboggan in safety at the skiing meadows in Piesting

Even with very little snow, you can still hurtle down the slopes of the Mattenhang in the skiing meadows of Piesting on a toboggan. What’s more, there is a conveyor belt and floodlighting, as well as hearty meals and refreshments available at the ski hut (reservation required!). Hengsthütte toboggan rental

Right by the side of the Schneeberg cog railway, the Hengsthütte offers toboggan hire in addition to its traditional home-cooked meals throughout the winter months. The forest road takes you back into the valley.

Tobogganing at the Furtner lifts

Three steep slopes at the Furtner Guesthouse and the Furtner lifts near Rohr in Gebirge are open for tobogganing – at the weekend there are also takeaway meals and toilets available near a side entrance to the guesthouse.

Hohe Wand nature park

Alongside many other family activities, at the Hohe Wand nature park visitor centre .there is also a beautiful toboggan run for the whole family – the adventure playground and the animal parks are also not far away.
