Excellent Triad dining at the z’Haus tavern

The Triad in Bad Schönau impresses with its haut cuisine, but is still down-to-earth.

A former stable block in the Vienna Alps attracts connoisseurs from all over the region. The multi award-winning cuisine of the Triad is worthwhile in more than one way.

The menu of the Triad in Bad Schönau is known far beyond the borders of the Vienna Alps. Recognition from Gault Millau and in the Falstaff Guide confirms the outstanding quality. The country restaurant with its nearby reservoir and golf range is one of the top establishments in the tavern culture.

Regional connections
Master Chef Uwe Machreich sources many of his ingredients from the area, and some even come from his own herb and vegetable garden. He prepares creative 3-7 course surprise menus, as well as classics from wiener schnitzel and fried chicken, to veal lungs and tripe.

Make it yourself
You can also learn from Uwe Machreich. On certain Thursdays, he hosts a four-hour cookery master class for 10 to 16 people. Those who want to learn to cook, but would prefer to let him do the work, are invited to reserve a place at the chef’s table in the cosy niche. And on weekends, items produced by local farmers can be bought from the farm shop.

Vienna Alps bed
After an excellent meal, there is also a special opportunity to stay at the Triad overnight. The first two Vienna Alps beds are here. The two modern country house style double rooms each have a terrace, and are surrounded by greenery. Thanks to a large glass façade, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Bucklige Welt.
