The Krumbacherhof: Holidays with the bike experts

At the Vienna Alps Premium Cycling Host, the cyclist is king

The Krumbacherhof is the “cycling centre” of Eastern Austria: mountain bikers, road cyclists, e-bikers and gravel bikers feel right at home here, not only because of the top equipment. With Karin and Andreas Ottner, they also meet enthusiastic like-minded people.

If there were a cycling king among Lower Austria’s hosts – the Krumbacherhof in Austria’s “Bucklige Welt” region would have more than a good chance of winning the title. This accommodation is the first address for cycling enthusiasts. Recently certified as a Vienna Alps Premium Bike Host, it has all the bike expertise in house: an excellently equipped workshop, bike rental service, tube machine, lockable bike garage, bike corner with information and maps, return service, guided tours. Even if you are a cycling beginner, you are in good hands at the Krumbacherhof: the professionals are always happy to pass on their expertise.

Half-day and full-day tours with the boss

“Where the Alps ebb away towards Hungary, in Lower Austria, there lies an almost forgotten region with a finely woven network of back roads – and countless hills that promise many metres of altitude.” This is what the racing bike magazine “Tour” wrote in 2015 in its travel reportage alongside Krumbacherhof boss, Andreas Ottner.

He also likes to share insider tips with countless hills and many metres of altitude with his guests. Four and a half or ten hours of biking? Simply choose whether you want to go on a half-day or a day tour with the boss himself.

When muesli bars are not enough

Perhaps a venison lasagne and a perfectly tapped “Schwarzbräu”? The Krumbacherhof works with various gourmet partners from the region to feed its guests. Among them: producers of fine spirits and fruit juices, organic pig and sheep meat breeders, organic grain farmers, goat cheese producers, a local beer brewery and ice-cream maker.
