The biker’s oasis in the Schneebergland: Landgasthof “Zur Schubertlinde”

Enjoy an active mountain bike holiday between the Hohe Wand and Schneeberg mountains

In the “Landgasthof” or “country inn” “Zur Schubertlinde” in Grünbach am Schneeberg, the passionate cyclist and chef Harry Luf cooks up his finest offerings: he also serves touring tips with his delicious menus.

The Alpen-Aktiv-Landgasthof “Zur Schubertlinde” is a partner establishment of “Vom Buckl zum Berg” in a dream location: right between Schneeberg and Hohe Wand, in the direct vicinity of three marked mountain bike routes. One special feature: the 6,000-square-metre alpine garden at the accommodation is a great place to relax between tours.

Three mountain bike trails almost on the doorstep

On your bikes, and let’s go! The “Schwarzes Gold” designated mountain bike trail starts directly at the country inn, with around 600 metres of altitude difference over 17 kilometres. You should pack a few more protein bars for the “Schneeberg” route, which is twice as long and involves over 800 metres in altitude difference. One family-friendly tour is the “Dürrnberg” route, which has its starting point in the municipality of Würflach, seven kilometres away.

From wet to dry

Want to discover more of the area? As a certified Viennese Alpine Cycling Host, the “Schubertlinde” offers its cycling guests, among other things, cycling maps on loan, in addition to rental bikes. Have you really worked up a sweat? There is a separate room for drying wet cycling clothes and even a laundry service.

Expect the unexpected – great special features

Do you burn a lot of calories when cycling? The country inn with the green “Wirtshauskultur-Plakette” inn culture badge deliberately serves its guests down-to-earth food: homemade spreads and home-made sausage and cheese are all served here. For the road, chef Harry Luf will provide a packed lunch and, in the evening, a four-course menu awaits hungry guests – true to the motto on the website: “Expect specials this week too”.
