Description
The hiking starting point in Prein is right next to the Raxalpenhof. Two leisurely hikes start from here: the Sonnleitenrunde and the Hollensteinrunde. A path also leads in the direction of Breitenstein, past the impressive Luckerte Wand. The Luckerte Wand takes you to an impressive vantage point with views of the Rax and Schneeberg.

Getting to the hiking starting point
Arrival by public transport
Take the train to Payerbach-Reichenau station, a traditional stop along the Southern Railway. You can get to the hiking starting point with the regional bus line 342 or alternatively book a trip with the RUFbus Semmering-Rax (stop RE10 Raxalpenhof Prein).
Arrival by car
From Vienna , take the A2 Südautobahn to the S6 Semmering-Schnellstraße and take the Gloggnitz exit. Continue on the B27 to Reichenau and Prein.
From Graz , take the S6 Semmering expressway and take the Gloggnitz exit. Continue on the B27 to Reichenau and Prein.
