The hiking starting point in Payerbach is right next to the historic railroad station on the Südbahn - an ideal starting point for varied tours around the UNESCO World Heritage Semmering Railway and Rax region. Not only do culturally and historically exciting trails such as the culture walk start here, but the popular railroad hiking trailalso leads from Semmering to Payerbach. Those looking for a combination of exercise and enjoyment can set off from here on leisurely hut hikes - for example to the Knofeleben Naturefriends House or to the Speckbacherhütte. And if you like to enjoy the views while hiking, follow the path to the Jubiläumsaussicht and on to theWaldburgerangerhütte on the Gahns.

Arrival at the hiking starting point
Public arrival
The hiking experience begins at Payerbach-Reichenau station, a traditional stop along the Southern Railway. The hiking starting point is right next to the station and can be reached by train as well as with the RUFbus Semmering-Rax (stop PB6 Payerbach station). The regional bus lines 341, 342 and 345 also provide good connections.
Arrival by car
From Vienna , take the A2 Südautobahn to the S6 Semmering-Schnellstraße and take the Gloggnitz exit. Continue on the B27 to the traffic light junction in Payerbach and turn right to the train station.
From Graz , take the S6 Semmering expressway and take the Gloggnitz exit. Continue on the B27 to the traffic lights in Payerbach and turn right to the train station.
Parking spaces are available directly on site at the Park & Ride at the train station .
