Gloggnitz station is located on the Southern Railway and is therefore a listed station on the Semmering Railway. The through station was opened in 1854 and is now a popular starting point for hikers in particular.
A section of the world-famous railroad hiking trail leads from Semmering via Eichberg to Gloggnitz station. The shortened 14-kilometre stagefrom Breitenstein to Gloggnitz is also particularly beautiful: it leads past the viaducts and buildings of the UNESCO World Hertige site and the Klamm ruins to the train station.

New lifts went into operation at the historically significant station at the beginning of 2014. Since then, three barrier-free entrances have provided more travel comfort - especially for visitors with limited mobility.

Of course, it is not only the historic Gloggnitz train station that invites you to linger and explore. The majestic Gloggnitz Castle has established itself as a venue for fairytale weddings. In summer there is a spacious natural swimming pool with an organic bathing pond - and in winter a romantic artificial ice rink.
