Description
The starting point of the path is located at the hiking start area directly in the center of the village, in front of the town hall. Walk towards the former Gasthof zur Post to the bike start area and follow the babbling of the Otterbach downstream to the Naschgarten.
Here, turn your gaze right towards the Teufelsriegel. An unusual hill right in the middle of the field. According to the legend and founding story of the Wolfgangskirche, the devil tipped over his wheelbarrow, leaving a large heap on the field, called the "Teufelsriegel". The path crosses the main street and leads you through the Wolfgang settlement. After a short climb, an breathtaking viewpoint opens around the Wolfgangskirche, offering a panoramic view over the picturesque valley.
According to legend, it was founded by Saint Wolfgang, who during a hike had the inspiration to throw an axe from the Kampstein into the Feistritz valley to establish a chapel at that spot. The footprint left at the "Antrittsstein" is still visible today. Tours can be requested from the "Friends of the Wolfgangskirche" association from April to September or at the Kirchberg am Wechsel tourism office (02641/2460).
Tip: Also visit the "Kirchberg-daham-Platzerl" just above the church and enjoy the beautiful view from there.
The path continues down stairs into a wooded area. Here you can discover local fauna and flora and with some luck hear the birds singing and the rustling of small animals. The peace of the forest opens up after a while at the scout home. Along the continued path of the walk, you will go along the monastery walls. Take the time to rest briefly on a bench before you reach the forecourt of the parish church.
A viewing highlight that offers you a panoramic view over Kirchberg. From here, you can admire the beauty of the landscape and take photos for your album. Walk towards the village square, or take the wooden stairs on the left as a shortcut, passing by the 1000-year-old linden tree before you return to the starting point. The walking path through the hiking village shows you the beauty of nature, cultural treasures, and the warmth of the villagers. Take time to enjoy every moment in this beautiful environment.

Take the A2 exit Aspang to Kirchberg am Wechsel or the A2 - S6 exit Gloggnitz to Kirchberg am Wechsel.
Parking
Parking is available at the medical center or behind the town hall in Kirchberg.
Take the train to Gloggnitz station and continue with bus lines 366 or 367 to Kirchberg am Wechsel (stop Hotel Post). Or from Aspang-Markt station, continue with line 369. Also to the Hotel Post stop.
