Description

Whether you just want a leisurely walk, a short Nordic walking route or a round for running. The Thalhofrunde offers something for everyone. Past the historic Thalhof to the Scheiterplatz, along the forest road to the Schneedörfl district. Through the forest back to Reichenau and along the Schwarza back to Schlossplatz

Route description Thalhofrunde in Reichenau

Start sign Schlossplatz, uphill left past the Rudolfvilla, straight ahead to the Thalhof, past it to the “Scheiterplatz”, right along the forest road, past the City of Vienna forestry house to the Schneedörfl district. After the fire station turn right into Schneedörflstraße and immediately left down the “Artzbergweg” to the forest. Follow the narrow forest path to the railway crossing of the Höllentalbahn. Cross this downhill, left along through the forest to the Barbarapromenade, right back to Schlossplatz Reichenau.

Running tips:

Start slowly to gradually stimulate circulation. After about 10 minutes take a short break with stretching exercises. Vary the pace to increase performance gains. Avoid overexertion especially on steep sections; rather walk if you don't have the basic fitness. Observe warm-up and cool-down phases. Let the run fade out and do not stretch too intensely afterwards!
