Route description Semmering - Pinkenkogel - Kampalm tour

The starting point of the hike is the parking lot at the Semmering Pass near the supermarket. First, we briefly go up the steep meadow to the Grenzland hut and then go left for 200 m along the Hochstraße. Before the Hotel Panhans, we turn left onto the long-distance trail 804 which leads towards Pinkenkogel. We walk along the forest road until after about one kilometer the forest path branches off to Pinkenkogel. In serpentine bends, we go to the clearing just before Pinkenkogel. Here we continue uphill along the forest road. After about 400 m, a forest path (long-distance trail 804) branches off to the right. Now we always go alternately uphill and downhill through the forest along the mountain ridge. Our descent goes over the Saurücken again through the forest to Spital am Semmering. Alternative: Probststeig - steep.

Please therefore observe the following:

Make sure when choosing the route that it corresponds to your mountain experience and fitness. Find out about the weather forecast in advance. Weather in the mountains can change surprisingly quickly. Always start out accordingly equipped (suitable footwear, rain protection). Check whether the huts and snack stations you want to visit on your way are open. Inform someone about your chosen route and planned return before you start. Stay on marked paths and avoid shortcuts. Due to dryness, meadows and forests are easily flammable. Treat fire with respect and report any possible fire immediately to the fire department. (122) Do not throw litter into the landscape and dispose of it properly.
