Brief description

Snowshoe hike on the Rax from the mountain station of the Rax cable car to Höllentalaussicht.

Description

The ascent to the Raxalpe is via the Rax cable car – Austria’s oldest passenger cable car, which started operation in 1926. Once at the top, snowy alpine meadows, wide views, and fresh, clear mountain air open up. The Raxalm mountain inn forms the starting point for the snowshoe tour. In about an hour you reach Höllentalaussicht. From there you have a breathtaking view of the rugged gorge of the Höllental.

Snowshoe hiking trains the whole body, strengthens the heart and circulation, and promotes blood flow through movement in the cold winter air.
