Description
We start at Schnitzelwirt Schabauer next to the community center. First, we follow the sidewalk to the intersection. Here we cross the road and follow the sidewalk towards Gloggnitz. Before the sharp left curve, a small paved road branches off to the right, which we follow until we reach Goldbergstraße.
From now on, it initially goes slightly uphill, passing a small shrine. At the first sharp right curve, we leave the paved road and go straight into a forest path. Now the path rises steadily until we come to a left curve. Here the forest path splits, we turn right and discover a first marking, a yellow-white circle on a tree. This is the Otterthal Panorama Trail.
We follow this until we reach a paved road and a farmstead. Attention: Here continue left, not down the road. Only at the next farmstead do we turn sharply right just before it onto a tractor path. This offers beautiful autumn views of the valley and from here we finally reach the main road, which we cross, after which we hike into the Alpl valley.
UP AND DOWN
Now we march about 300 meters on the paved road, past the first settlement to a farm. At the end of the house, we turn right into a field path. Now there is another ascent to overcome until we reach a fork under the high-voltage line at the top. We take the right gravel road that leads downhill. Soon we again reach a farm in the district of Lehen. Immediately afterward, we see the sign that leads us to the "Engagement Path." Here we can shorten the route because on the right first a narrow road leads, then a field path downhill, and soon afterward we also see a green marking on a tree. On the following meadow path, you have a magnificent view of the autumn-colored leaf forest of the Otter, which appears large and mighty in front of you. Finally, we reach Otterthal. Before crossing the bridge, we turn left into the bike path and soon reach our starting point.

Longer version
Those who want to hike longer than one and a half hours follow the Engagement Path, that is, the paved road up to a left-hand curve. Here we turn right off the road and take a shortcut. However, this path soon meets the road to Lehen again. In the village, we follow the bike path back to the starting point on the right. All in all, it is a leisurely route, also suitable for children from six years old, with beautiful views, especially with the colorful display of leaves in autumn.
