Circular hiking route over the Grimmenstein local mountain, the Kulmriegel
The path follows forest trails over the Grimmenstein Kulmriegel. You can take a short break at the Mariengrotto, then continue to the Maierhöfen settlement on the Eben with views to the Türkensturz, Schneeberg, the Rosalia mountains and the Vienna basin. Over the Kunstgraben, the route then returns again.

Starting from the town hall square, follow the Schulgasse up to the Kunstgraben junction. Here, turn left uphill to the bridge, then take the path right into the forest towards the grotto. Pass the grotto to the Grüb settlement and continue along the Burgweg to the Maierhöfen settlement. Through the cherry avenue with magnificent views past the fire station. Over the Eben settlement and the Kunstgraben, then return up the Schulgasse back to the town hall square.
Exit the South Motorway A2 at Grimmenstein exit, then turn left into the town center

Always take suitable maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes adapted to the route, take sun and rain protection as well as water and a small snack. Take your mobile phone with you and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140

Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your mountain experience and your fitness. Check the weather forecast in advance. Weather in the mountains can change surprisingly quickly. Always set off properly equipped accordingly (e.g. rain protection).
Check whether the huts and snack stations you want to visit along the way are open. Inform someone about your choice of route and your planned return before you set off.
