Starhemberg castle ruins
The large Starhemberg castle ruins are half an hour's walk from Dreistetten train station. Although access is prohibited due to the risk of collapse, it is worth a visit just to see these huge walls from the outside. And you won't have to wait long for some impressive views either.
Tip: Make a detour to the Scherrerwirt local history museum, which is just a few minutes' walk from the castle ruins. Leopold Scherrer, who is well-known in the region for his passion for collecting, has created a restaurant that tells stories and is hard to beat in terms of cosiness with the exhibits he has collected over the years.
