Train station Dreistetten

Train station

The station Dreistetten is located in the middle of the village of the same name, which belongs to Markt Piesting since 1975. The small rustic bus shelter is embedded in the densely wooded surroundings and offers train passengers protection from wind and weather.

Route information

The Dreistetten stop is on the route of the Piestingtal Railway.

  • Trains to Wiener Neustadt to the main station stop here.
  • There are regional trains to Gutenstein.
  • A bus stop with connecting buses to Waldegg-Dürnbach is located right next to the station.

Starhemberg castle ruins

Half an hour's walk from Dreistetten station is the large Starhemberg castle ruins. Although access is forbidden due to the danger of collapse, it is worth a visit just to be able to look at these huge walls from the outside. And some impressive views are not long in coming.

Tip: Take a detour to the Scherrerwirt local history museum, which is just a few minutes' walk from the castle ruins. Leopold Scherrer, who is known in the region for his passion for collecting, created, with the exhibits collected over time, a guest room that tells stories and is hard to beat in terms of cosiness.
