Description

The single-track Willendorf am Steinfeld station is located on the main line of the Schneebergbahn in the Lower Austrian district of Neunkirchen. The reception building on the platform offers a covered waiting area. The adjoining Park & Ride facility provides space for 15 cars and mopeds as well as more than 20 bicycles.

Route information

  • Regional trains to Wiener Neustadt and Puchberg am Schneeberg are served here.
  • Bus connections to Grünbach, Gutenstein and Neunkirchen can be reached directly at the station.
  • Until 1942, Willendorf am Steinfeld station was the terminus of a branch line of the Schneebergbahn, which was opened in 1909 and was mainly used to transport coal to Neunkirchen. Passenger traffic on the line was discontinued as early as 1933, and the tracks were removed after all traffic was discontinued.
