Not far from Rothengrub station, about a 30-minute walk away, is the western entrance to the Johannesbachklamm gorge. Here you can discover the fascinating landscape, marked by gorges, over wide paths and bridges for around 1 kilometer. The Gerhartl Johannesbachklamm refuge offers a cozy place to stop for refreshments at the end of the hike.

Back in 1902, nature lovers made the gorge accessible to visitors by creating secure paths.
