River hiking along the Schwarza
River hiking is a popular leisure activity for people of all ages who enjoy spending time in nature and love the water. This hike offers a varied combination of a hike along the Schwarza and a leisurely trip through the Höllental valley with its steep rock faces and rushing water. With a packraft (light boat) in tow, you set off from Reichenau (Rax cable car parking lot) along the Schwarza through the Höllental valley to Kaiserbrunn. After a snack break at an idyllic spot on the banks of the Schwarza, you enjoy a gentle river trip through the picturesque Höllental valley back to the starting point. You can also visit the historic Vienna Water Pipeline Museum and be transported back in time on the hike past the former high spring water pipeline.
