Description

On the route of the Südbahn in Lower Austria's industrial quarter is Neunkirchen station in the municipality of the same name. The large reception building welcomes rail passengers and offers publicly accessible sanitary facilities and a ticket vending machine as well as a waiting room and digital train destination displays.

More than 320 parking spaces in the Park & Ride facility and over 200 bicycle parking spaces make it easy to transfer to the train. The station, which was completely renovated in 2014/2015, is barrier-free and customer-oriented.

Route information

  • There are regional trains to Payerbach-Reichenau and Vienna Floridsdorf.
  • Trains to Mürzzuschlag and Bernhardsthal also connect.
  • Bus connections to the centre of Neunkirchen, as well as to Pitten and Grünberg am Schneeberg are available directly from the station.
  • In addition to the connection to the Südbahn line, the Neunkirchen stop is also on the line of the Willendorf-Neunkirchen local railway. Already in 1933 the passenger traffic of this branch line, which was mainly built for the transport of coal, was stopped. Freight traffic was discontinued in 1942.

You don't have to look far to find leisure activities in Neunkirchen. The quaint old town with its historic buildings such as the parish church and the town hall invite you to take a leisurely stroll.

In addition to numerous gastronomic delicacies, the city also offers several excursion destinations. For example, the Municipal Museum can be reached on foot in about a quarter of an hour from the train station, and the local recreation center is a further ten minutes' walk away.
