Route information

  • Regional trains to Payerbach-Reichenau and Semmering stop here.
  • Trains to Vienna and Mürzzuschlag are served during the week at peak times.
  • Eichberg station is located on the route of the historic Semmering Railway - the section of the Southern Railway built in 1848. The spectacular high mountain railroad has been a UNESCO World Hertige site since 1998 and is one of the most beautiful and impressive railroad lines in Europe.

World Heritage Cycling

In keeping with the spirit of the World Heritage Site , you can also tour the beautiful route on a mountain bike. Starting from Gloggnitz station, the World Heritage route leads via Eichberg in the direction of Schottwien on country roads past the numerous bridges and viaducts that are so characteristic of the impressive railroad line in the midst of the fantastic landscape.
