The most beautiful towns to visit in the Viennese Alps

Wiener Neustadt is the most well-known town, surrounded by the Viennese Alps. A visit to the former imperial town is worth it, in particular due to sights, such as the Wiener Neustadt castle or the late Romanesque cathedral. The second biggest town in Lower Austria is also loved for its generous pedestrian zones and shopping opportunities.

Charming cultural towns
Like Wiener Neustadt, Neunkirchen is also situated in the Vienna Basin. Numerous coffee houses, markets and confectioners sweeten a stay in the culture and district’s capital. In Gloggnitz at the foot of the Semmering, visitors are above all attracted to Gloggnitz castle. Even more inviting is the municipality of Kirchschlag in Bucklige Welt. The castle ruins of Kirchschlag and the fragrant rose garden make visiting an idyllic experience.
