Speckbacherhütte

Description

The Speckbacherhütte on the Kreuzberg at 1,089 meters is an insider tip for fans of good food. It is an excellent starting or finishing point for a hike and is also easily accessible by car. From here, there is an impressive view of the highest part of the Rax, the Kampalpe and the Sonnwendstein - a panorama that quickly makes everyday life fade into the background. A true natural wonder also grows directly in front of the hut: a rhododendron that is over 110 years old and covers an area of around 131 m², which is in full bloom every year in May.

Culinary delights

Hearty home cooking such as roast pork from the wood-fired oven with bread dumplings and bacon and cabbage salad or fine schnitzel are on the menu, as are home-made pastries. A culinary specialty are the Neapolitan momos, vegetarian or with meat.
