The Waldschlössl with its eventful history (first aristocratic residence in the upper Schwarzatal around 1150 and already operated as a guesthouse in imperial times, later as a health resort) was completely renovated in 2019 and 2020 and now offers exclusively modern furnished vacation apartments and rooms in an absolutely unique building. All apartments and rooms have underfloor heating, the floors are tiled in the anterooms and wet areas and high-quality vinyl in the bedrooms and living areas. All showers are at ground level (without access) and all bedrooms and living rooms offer an incomparable view over the Schneedörfl and Reichenau to the Rax and the Semmering region.
The Rax and Schneeberg apartments each have an eat-in kitchen and two bedrooms. In the parents' rooms there are double beds made of solid wood (in Apartment Rax a four-poster bed), in the children's rooms there are bunk beds, also made of solid wood. Apartment Rax can accommodate five people, Apartment Schneeberg four people. The south-facing balcony assigned to Apartment Rax has a wonderful view and is large enough for dining or simply relaxing.
The Zita and Leno rooms each have their own bathroom and WC and can accommodate four and two people respectively.
As a vacation at the Waldschlössl should be as sustainable as possible, but without compromising on comfort (e.g. the heating is geothermal, the soaps are regional natural cosmetics, we grow fruit and vegetables in the garden)and because the Payerbach-Reichenau train station can be reached in 10-15 minutes (but you can't hear the train), guests arriving by public transport receive a 10% discount on the accommodation prices.
