Brief description

The trail section Feistritzsattel - Kummerbauerstadl (trail No. 10) is suitable for beginners and is groomed for classic and skating style.

Description

The entire Wechsel panoramic trail lies at over 1,000 meters altitude. This guarantees not only wonderful panoramic views of Schneeberg, Rax, Wechsel, and the surrounding regions but also a high snow reliability. Provided there is enough snow for grooming, the trail is groomed from early December until the end of March and runs through varied terrain, also dividing into smaller loop trail sections.

The Feistritzsattel - Kummerbauerstadl trail (trail No. 10) is ideal for beginners up to km 5, as the trail passage is very flat.  

A day ticket for the Wechsel panoramic trail is available at the ticket building at Feistritzsattel.

Route description Wechsel panoramic trail: Feistritzsattel - Kummerbauerstadl

The trail start is located diagonally opposite parking lot No. 1. After about 2 km, you pass a chapel and on the right-hand side, the top station of the Feistritzsattel drag lift can be seen. After 3.5 km, there is a junction on trail No. 13 to GH Dissauer. The trail is very flat and ideal for beginners up to km 5. Afterwards, it becomes hilly towards GH Kummerbauerstadl. 

Directions

From Vienna: A2 and S6 to the Gloggnitz - Höllental Straße (B27) - L134 exit to Otterthal - turn right onto L175 towards Trattenbach  - follow the road (approx. 10 km) to Feistritzsattel.

From Graz: S35 to Bruck an der Mur - S6 to the Gloggnitz exit -  L134 to Otterthal - turn right onto L175 to Trattenbach  - follow the road (approx. 10 km) to Feistritzsattel. 

From Graz: A2 - Gleisdorf exit - B64 to Weiz - then B72 towards Birkfeld to Ratten - then on L407 via Rettenegg to Feistritzsattel

The Feistritzsattel trailhead is not accessible by public transport. 

Take the train to Gloggnitz station, then bus 366 or 367 (direction Kirchberg am Wechsel). Change in Otterthal (GH Rottensteiner) to bus 368 (direction Trattenbach). From there, take a taxi to the Feistritzsattel trailhead.

TRAIL LIABILITY
The cross-country skiing & winter sports club expressly points out that usage is at your own risk and all responsibility and liability is excluded. No specific condition of the cross-country trail is guaranteed. Service vehicles and trail grooming equipment may be on the trail during operating hours. Furthermore, it is expressly pointed out that there is no evening trail control.

TRAIL USAGE REGULATIONS 

The trail requires a fee; tickets are available at the cash desks directly at the trail access. Controls are carried out on the trail by officials of the cross-country skiing & winter sports club. The control officials are authorized to collect fees! If a valid usage ticket cannot be shown at a control, the official is entitled to immediately collect €15. Children up to 15 years have free entry.Observe the signs at the entry points and along the trail and do not leave the cross-country track.The trail track must be used on the right-hand side throughout the entire area.Please observe all forestry and hunting notices. Respect designated wildlife and restricted areas and do not enter them, as animals also need rest.Dogs are not allowed on the trail, not even on a leash, as the entire trail runs through forest and hunting areas.Do not litter; take your waste back home.The trail will NOT be groomed during snowfall or strong winds.Never ski alone in high alpine terrain, but in groups. In case of accidents, report the exact position number of the marker signs where you are located, as well as your name and mobile phone number. This significantly facilitates the coordination of the rescue operation.

  There is no guarantee that the entire trail network will be available when purchasing a VIP card or trail ticket.
