Brief description

The trail section Mountain Station Mariensee - Marienseer Schwaig (trail no. 7) is suitable for beginners and untrained skiers and is groomed in classic and skating styles.

Description

The entire Wechsel Panorama Trail lies above 1,000 meters altitude. This guarantees not only wonderful panoramic views of Schneeberg, Rax, Wechsel, and the surrounding regions but also high snow reliability. As long as there is enough snow for grooming, the trail is groomed from early December to the end of March and runs through varied terrain, dividing into smaller loop sections as well.

The trail entrance to the section Mountain Station Mariensee - Marienseer Schwaig (trail no. 7) is located directly next to the mountain station of the panoramic cable car of Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen-Mariensee. Access by car to the trail entrance is not possible.The entrance is only accessible by the panoramic cable car from Mariensee.

You can purchase a day ticket for the trail at the cash desk of Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen-Mariensee. There are discounts for trail guests for the mountain and valley rides.

Route description Wechsel Panorama Trail: Mountain Station Mariensee - Marienseer Schwaig

We start at the mountain station, turning right towards Niederwechsel and Hochwechsel. We follow the trail past the Glaserluck'n and the Hermannshütte to the Marienseer Schwaig. The hut is currently closed. The route can be extended on trail no. 6 to the Dreiländereck (3.5 km).

Directions

From Vienna take the A2 to the Aspang-Edlitz exit - follow B54 to Aspang, then take the third exit in the roundabout (Gutenberggasse) - turn right onto Bahnstraße and follow the road to Sonneck - turn left onto L4184 to Mariensee - then follow the signs for the Mönichkirchen Mariensee ski shuttle to the valley station of the panoramic cable car.

From Graz take the A2 to the Aspang exit - continue on Zöbernstraße to Aspang - turn left at the main square onto Hauptstraße - after 250 m turn right into Sandgasse - turn left at the end of the street to Sonneck - turn left onto L4184 to Mariensee - then follow the signs for the Mönichkirchen Mariensee ski shuttle to the valley station of the panoramic cable car.

Access by car to the trail entrance is not possible. The entrance is only reachable by the panoramic cable car.

Parking

Parking spaces are available at the Mariensee valley station.

From Wr. Neustadt by regional train to Aspang-Markt - regional bus 1764 towards Mariensee to the station "Abzw. Langegg", then 1 kilometer on foot to the valley station of the Mönichkirchen-Mariensee ski shuttle (walking time about 15 minutes).

TRAIL LIABILITY
The cross-country and winter sports club expressly points out that use is at your own risk and any responsibility and liability is excluded. A specific condition of the cross-country trail is not guaranteed. Service vehicles and trail grooming equipment may be on the trail during operating hours. Furthermore, it is expressly pointed out that there is no evening trail inspection.

TRAIL USAGE REGULATIONS

The trail requires a fee; cards are available at the cash desks directly at the entry points to the trail network. Controls are carried out on the trail by officials of the cross-country and winter sports club. The officials are authorized to collect fees! If a valid usage card cannot be presented during a check, the official is entitled to immediately collect €15.00. Children up to 15 years have free admission.

Observe the signs at the entry points and along the trail and do not leave the cross-country track.The trail track must be used on the right side throughout.Please observe all forestry and hunting instructions.Observe marked wildlife and restricted areas and do not enter them; animals also need rest.Dogs are not allowed on the trail, not even on a leash, as the entire trail runs through forest and hunting areas.Do not litter; take your trash back home with you.The trail is NOT groomed in case of snowfall or strong wind.Never ski alone in high alpine terrain, always in groups.In case of accidents, give the exact position number of the marking signs where you are, as well as your name and mobile phone number when reporting. This significantly facilitates the coordination of rescue operations.

When purchasing a VIP card or day ticket, there is no guarantee that the entire trail network will be available.

Author's tip

The Marienseer Schwaig is open in winter during the trail operating hours on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
