Description
The market town of Waldegg is an idyllic community in the Piestingtal valley on the north side of the Hohe Wand. Waldegg's historical sites include the Jakobuskirche church and a wayside cross from the 17th century. Sports enthusiasts can look forward to an outdoor swimming pool with solar-heated pool, 3 tennis courts, a public sports field and a natural ice rink. Hiking and circular hiking trails lead to popular excursion destinations such as the Dürnbach Falls or the viewpoint at the Waldegger House. There are also cycle paths for different levels of ability along the Piesting or in the surrounding mountains. In Waldegg there is also a mushroom and berry area and the possibility of fly fishing. Craft courses, a community lending library, cultural days in October and the multi-purpose hall make the community more liveable. Rustic cider taverns invite you to linger.
