The village is famous throughout the world as the place where the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein worked as a primary school teacher. • The forest and hunting theme trails, the Wittgensteinweg, the Wanderplatz'l and many other beautiful circular hiking trails and walks along well-marked paths form a varied hiking network. Magnificent views of the Rax and Schneeberg as well as the Hochwechsel form the attractive backdrop for this recreational area.
• At the Lechner family's riding stables, young and old alike can enjoy the animal action.
• The Wechselforelle restaurant is also very popular in the region, offering both fishing and culinary delights based on local freshwater fish.
• In August 2002, a moor meadow (3,466 m²) was declared a natural monument. In the central area of this sloping moorland, you will find the sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), a carnivorous plant that specializes in moorland habitats, as well as a number of other rare marsh and moorland plants.
