Equipment

Snowshoes, backpack with provisions, winter-capable trekking poles, light, mobile phone, lighter, map material.
For minor equipment malfunctions, a cable tie or piece of wire is often enough for a makeshift repair.
It is recommended to always carry basic avalanche equipment in the mountains.

Safety information

Particular caution is required in winter when moving in the mountains. Keep in mind when planning routes that your timing can be disturbed by even a small incident, especially in winter. A weather change or a technical defect on the snowshoes can noticeably hinder your progress. Furthermore, remember that it can get dark as early as 4:00 p.m. in winter and spending a night outdoors in winter can quickly become life-threatening.

Also remember that markings can be invisible due to snow in winter and therefore prepare well for your route!
