Skigebiet Stuhleck
Description
Close enough for every day off - 26 kilometers of slopes, four comfort chairlifts and six T-bar lifts.
At 1,782 m, the Stuhleck is the highest elevation in the Fischbach Alps. The Stuhleck cable cars are located in the municipality of Spital am Semmering (Styria). Only around 100 km from Vienna and Graz, the Stuhleck can be easily reached in around an hour by car, train or bus. The unique accessibility enables spontaneous skiing fun every day in Austria's most popular day ski area.
Thanks to the difference in altitude of 1,000 meters, long runs of over 5 kilometers in one go are possible. Particularly noteworthy is the Stuhleckbahn (4-seater chairlift with weather protection hood). With a length of 2.7 km and a travel time of just 11 minutes, it is the longest 4-seater chairlift in the whole of Austria. Thanks to continuous investment in snow-making equipment over the last few years, it is now possible to produce snow on 100% of the piste network by machine. Snow is produced by propeller guns and snow lances from water and air without the use of additives.
The Stuhleck also boasts many other attractions. These include 2 race tracks with timekeeping, a free speed measuring track, Skiline offers (Skimovie, Speedcheck, Photo Point) and the night piste, which guarantees full skiing fun into the evening, including an illuminated snow park. The kilometers of slopes are divided into 20km of easy and 6km of intermediate slopes. Other attractions such as the 5 km long, family and child-friendly natural toboggan run from the mountain station to the middle station of the Stuhleckbahn provide variety. Three ski schools and four ski rental shops also make it easy for beginners and occasional skiers to spend a day in the Stuhleck ski area. The Stuhleck also has 2 km of classic cross-country ski trails.
