Servitenkloster Mariahilfberg

Description

The Servites, an order of servants of Mary, have been guarding the monastery and pilgrimage church on Mariahilfberg in Gutenstein since 1672. The monks have been at the monastery without interruption ever since. Mariahilfberg has developed into a popular place of pilgrimage since 1661 due to Marian apparitions. Over the centuries, the Mariahilfberg has been shaped by the monks and is reminiscent of Monte Senario, where the order's original monastery is located. A romantic Way of the Cross through the forest invites pilgrims to meditate and pray. The religious landscape garden with grottos and the Raimund seat, which offers a wonderful view of the Schneeberg, is also very special.
