Description
The Schneebergbahn takes you from the spa town of Puchberg to the king of the Vienna Alps, the highest mountain in Lower Austria at 2,075 m. Modern Salamander railcars and over 100-year-old steam locomotives provide an exciting contrast. Pristine nature, marked hiking trails, and a magnificent panoramic view await you!

Route description Schneebergbahn (Puchberg - Hochschneeberg)
From Puchberg am Schneeberg station, take the Schneebergbahn directly up to the highest mountain in Lower Austria. Hochschneeberg station at 1,800 m above sea level is the highest station in Austria and an ideal starting point for many beautiful hikes on and around the Schneeberg.
Directions
From Vienna on the A2 towards Graz, take exit 44 to Wr. Neustadt-West, then turn left onto B26 Puchberger Straße. Drive on B26 to Puchberg am Schneeberg, then turn right onto Bahnstraße towards the station in Puchberg.
Parking
It is best to follow the parking guidance system in Puchberg. New parking lot behind the old station depot with 58 parking spaces. All parking spaces in Puchberg are free of charge. Our tip: Parking lot 5
Take the Südbahn towards Graz to Wiener Neustadt main station. From there, change to the next regional train with Puchberg am Schneeberg as the final stop. At Puchberg station, transfer to the Schneebergbahn.
