Details for: Schneeberg route
Brief description
The Schneeberg is not only the highest mountain in Lower Austria, it also dominates the - nomen est omen - Schneeberg route, although the route does not lead directly up. Attractive route with a great alpine pasture section against the backdrop of the Schneeberg.
Description
Puchberg - Ödenhof - Arbestal - Puchberg - Schneebergdörfl - Unternberg - Haltberghof - Puchberg
The starting point Puchberg am Schneeberg is one of the most beautifully located municipalities in Lower Austria, the Schneeberg itself is the "local mountain of the Viennese" par excellence. The MTB route impresses especially with the scenic views along the northeast escarpments of the Schneeberg and is particularly charming at the beginning of May during the fruit tree blossom season in the Puchberg basin. The route is half asphalt and half forest/gravel paths with tough climbs and fast descents.
