Welcome to Pernitz!
Pernitz is also known as the pearl on the Piesting. The town's name comes from the word "Perenica", which roughly means "a stream where people work with glowing coals". Today, Pernitz is the industrial center and an important shopping destination in the Piesting Valley with around 90 businesses from a wide range of sectors and the Ortmann paper mill.
Numerous walking and hiking trails up to the Hohe Wand invite you to explore the beautiful surroundings and the Biedermeiertal-Radwandwerg (Biedermeier Valley cycle path) invites you to cycle along the Piesting river.
In winter, the nearby Unterberg offers a natural snow paradise for winter sports with the whole family.
