Pfarrkirchen in Ober-Aspang und Unter-Aspang
Description
Aspang Markt is home to two parishes and therefore two parish churches: the former main church of Unter-Aspang was built on the remains of the walls of a Charlemagne cartel in the 9th century, with a Romanesque St. Mary's Chapel and Gothic nave, as well as the hexagonal Magdalen Chapel from the 13th century next door, which is now a funeral parlor.
The upper church was a branch of the lower church until 1950, is dedicated to St. Florian and was used as a castle church until 1628. 1590-1694 Center for the then Protestant community of Ober-Aspang. The late Gothic hall church with its Baroque interior was restored a few years ago.
