Miesenbach is the home of Biedermeier painter Friedrich Gauermann (1807 - 1862) and is therefore also known as the home of Gauermann. In the Gauermann Museum you can admire various works by the artist, as well as furniture from the Biedermeier period and special exhibitions on photography and contemporary art. Miesenbach is ideal for those seeking peace and relaxation thanks to its climatic and scenic advantages. The largely wooded area also offers a wealth of extremely beautiful hiking, cycling and riding trails. Winter activities range from curling to skiing on the nearby Unterberg or Schneeberg.
