Miesenbach

Description

Miesenbach is the home of the Biedermeier painter Friedrich Gauermann (1807 - 1862) and is therefore also called Gauermannheimat. In the Gauermann Museum you can admire various works of the artist, as well as furniture from the Biedermeier period and special exhibitions on photography and contemporary art. For those seeking rest and recreation, Miesenbach is ideally suited due to its climatic and scenic advantages. The largely wooded area also offers an abundance of extremely beautiful hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Winter activities range from curling to skiing on the nearby Unterberg or Schneeberg. Numerous clubs are active in the community, from the Trachtenkapelle to the youth club. Culinary delights await visitors in the numerous restaurants and huts. Farm vacations are also offered.
