Hohe Wand Nature Park

Description

The Hohe Wand is a massive karst plateau in the Vienna Alps and a total of 8 km long, 2.5 km wide and up to 1,132 m high. The 1,000 climbing and hiking routes of the Hohe Wand Nature Park make the limestone inselberg an attraction for climbers, hikers, families and paragliders.

The view from the "Skywalk" observation deck is unique. The platform extends about 8 meters above the rock face, and below it goes 150 meters into the depths. You can also enjoy a great view from the 18-meter-high observation tower. From here you can see as far as Lake Neusiedl, Schneeberg and the foothills of the Alps.

Families with children will be happy about the varied offer of petting zoo, playground, animal enclosure, forest nature trail, llama hikes and numerous easy trails, which are also passable with strollers. You can eat well in the numerous inns. The arrival by car is via the toll road to the plateau.
