Hacker Haus - Museum für Zeitgeschichte

Description

HACKER HAUS - Museum of Contemporary History

PERMANENT EXHIBITION

"The Hacker Family -
Jewish Life in Bad Erlach".

What is Judaism?

The first room of the permanent exhibition deals with this exciting question. In a vivid way it is shown how Judaism is defined and what it is all about. Religious festivals and customs can be experienced in film clips and extensive 3D reconstructions invite visitors to explore the synagogues of Lower Austria. An interactive map of the communities allows visitors to immerse themselves in the Jewish past of the entire Bucklige-Welt-Wechselland region and to research the places and people themselves. A special object is the shofar of the Hacker family, a ram's horn blown in Judaism on certain holidays, the sounds of which can also be experienced acoustically.

Buses leave directly in front of the museum, sufficient parking spaces available, barrier-free, dogs allowed,
