Feistritz am Wechsel is located in the green hilly landscape of Wechselland, in the beautiful valley of the Feistritz stream that gives the village its name, about 80 kilometers south of Vienna and easily accessible via Wiener Neustadt. The idyllic surroundings and pleasant climate are ideal for long hikes and visits to nearby excursion destinations. Feistritz am Wechsel has retained its village character with its church square, parish church and defensive wall. Here, gnarled giant trees provide pleasant shade in midsummer and there are several restaurants.

• The late Gothic parish church with its well-preserved defensive wall is one of the sights in Feistritz. This is the starting point for many hikes to the heights of the beautiful surrounding area.
• The pleasantly flat Feistritz Valley cycle path connects the valley villages in Wechselland over a distance of around 20 kilometers.
• A visit to the solar-heated outdoor pool with its beautiful sunbathing lawn and children's playground is refreshing.
• We recommend the 3-kilometre-long forest nature trail, which is also suitable for families. Information boards along the trail tell you about berries, mushrooms, bird species and wildlife tracks and you can learn a lot about the geology of Wechselland. The rustic shelter invites you to take a break and is the venue for the annual "Day of the Forest" in August and the hunters' thanksgiving mass in the fall.
• Feistritz Castle, which sits proudly on the hillside above the Feistritz Valley in a romantic park landscape, is both fortified and very idyllic. The medieval fortress defied many a siege and was extended and rebuilt several times in the 17th and 18th centuries to become a sophisticated aristocratic residence. Today, Feistritz Castle is the venue for top-class classical music concerts in a historic setting. There are regular courses and workshops as well as festivals and events, such as the annual'Harriet&Friends' event. Feistritz Castle is also ideal for events, meetings and seminars.
