Go directly from the well-positioned Wiener Neustadt to the mountains of the Vienna Alps

A connection to the mountains, and the starting point for excursions to the mountains of the Vienna Alps – Wiener Neustadt offers an easy access route to nature, which is combined with urban flair.

The beautifully situated Wiener Neustadt area is bordered by the Hohen Wand in the north west, and by the rolling hills of the Bucklige Welt in the south. This is also where the Eurovelo 9 - Thermenradweg route begins, which leads to the Wechsel region.

Look and marvel
But Wiener Neustadt is not just the perfect starting point for hikes along the Wiener Alpenbogen - Arc of the Viennese Alps (trail). The historic city has great opportunities for shopping, or watching the world go by over coffee and cake. The main square and pedestrian streets are particularly beautiful to look at, with their shops, markets and lovingly designed cafés. When walking through the city, you will discover sights such as the Wiener Neustadt Cathedral and the 13th century Reckturm watchtower. The castle, Burg Wiener Neustadt, is also worth a look. Today, it is home to the Military Academy.

As well as fascinating history, there are great attractions such as Aqua Nova sports pool and water park or the Arena Nova. Bowling alleys and cinemas add to the range of activities. The programme of the Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt features cabarets and shows for young and old alike. The city is easily accessible from the central railway station in Wiener Neustadt.
