Description

The small Oberpiesting station in the village of the same name is located in the Lower Austrian district of Wiener Neustadt-Land. The island platform serves two train tracks and offers seating that shortens any waiting time for rail travelers with a view of the idyllic surroundings. Some parking spaces are provided to make it easier to change to the train.

Route information

The Oberpiesting stop is located along the route of the Piestingtal Bahn.

  • Trains to the main station in Wiener Neustadt stop here.
  • Trains to Gutenstein are also served.

Starhemberg castle ruins

The impressive walls of the Starhemberg castle ruins are just a 20-minute walk from Oberpiesting station. Although access to the castle ruins is prohibited, the remains of the historic fortress leave an incomparable impression.

Unicorn cave

If you walk further from the Starhemberg castle ruins, you can reach the Unicorn Cave in half an hour on foot. On request, a guided tour can be arranged at the Zitherwirt. It then takes a good quarter of an hour to admire the interior of the easily accessible cave. Due to the easy path conditions, a visit is also suitable for young explorers.
