Hohe Wand nature park

Description

Hohe Wand is an enormous mountain ridge in the Vienna Alps, which is a total of 8 km long, 2.5 km wide and up to 1,132 m high. The 1,000 climbing and walking routes in the Hohe Wand nature park make the chalk inselberg an attractive destination for climbers, hikers, families and paragliders.

The view from the “Skywalk” viewing terrace is unique. The platform stretches roughly 8 metres across the crag, reaching depths down to 150 metres. You can discover a fantastic view from the 18-metre high viewing tower. From here you can see as far as Lake Neusiedl, the Schneeberg and the Alpine foreland.

Families with children enjoy the diverse range of activities available, including the petting zoo, playground, animal enclosures, forest learning trail, llama walks and countless easy walking routes that are accessible with pushchairs. There are a large number of restaurants serving excellent food. Arriving by car takes you via the toll road to the plateau.
