Details for: Hike to Kohlröserlhaus (from Stollhof)

Brief description

Hike from Stollhof via a hiking trail at Bergstraße up to the Hohe Wand to the Kohlröserlhaus.

Description

Stollhof, as a district of the Hohe Wand municipality, is located directly at the foot of the mountain and is the ideal starting point for various hikes. Via Festplatzstraße, you reach the forest where the route to the Hohe Wand can start. Our path follows a comfortable route, and from the starting point, you can also reach the Hohe Wand via the Leiterlsteig (via ferrata A). Our path also intersects with Bergstraße, which you can comfortably drive by car to reach the huts and the nature park on the Hohe Wand. The destination of our route is the Kohlröserlhaus guesthouse. Diligent hikers are rewarded here with culinary specialties such as lean Meisel with cream green beans and parsley potatoes or the famous Kohlröserl cake according to great-grandmother's recipe. The mountain guesthouse also has an exhibition room with minerals from around the world and regional finds such as cave bear teeth or fossilized snails. At Kohlröserlhaus, there are also numerous starting points for beautiful hiking and walking trails in the Hohe Wand nature park. Via the Ötscher-Blick circular route, you reach the viewpoint terrace Skywalk.

Alternative ascents to Kohlröserlhaus lead from Stollhof via the Hanselsteig (via ferrata A/B) and the Bründlries, or from Waldegg via Große Klause, as well as from Dreistetten via the Herrgottschnitzerweg and further along Wandeckstraße.
